A mix of both residential and commercial, Hollywood serves primarily as a shopping district. It offers a nice variety of boutiques, restaurants, and other shops with a uniquely Portland-feel.
Resting in a section that serves as a crossroad for many major Portland arteries – such as I-84, Sandy Boulevard, Halsey, and Broadway – it also is a mecca of public transportation.
Though not named after glitzy Tinseltown itself, Hollywood has an old-world charm of its own that evokes another time. The Hollywood Theater, an area mainstay, is as charming as the area houses – mostly modest and affordable cottages and bungalows. Quickly becoming one of the hottest areas in town, Hollywood’s proximity to so many other great neighborhoods and amenities only adds to its growing appeal.
